PIJAC Canada raising pet issues at The Federation of Canadian Municipalities Annual Conference.
PIJAC Canada joined over 2000 mayors, councillors and city staffers in Halifax this past weekend. Representatives from the Yukon all the way to Dieppe, New Brunswick stopped by to chat and pick up information on our Best Management Practices for Retail Stores, and animal legislative policies. Many of them were surprised to hear that more than 50% of homes in Canadian communities have a pet.
This Conference is an excellent place for PIJAC Canada to share tools available for municipalities seeking assistance with animal care and control. Our presence serves to educate and start conversations about challenges pets and their families face and the resources available to help improve animal well-being.
