Oasis Dance Studio logo

As a contribution to my local community, I created this logo for a regional dance school specializing in Middle Eastern dance. The design, while simple at first glance, reflects multiple layers of meaning drawn from the studio’s identity.

The forms reference a shen ring (symbol of protection and eternity), the shape of a desert moon, and flowing lines that evoke either light fabric in motion or the graceful movements of dancers’ arms and hands. It was important to offer a symbol that conveyed both the elegance of the art form and the welcoming spirit of the studio.

While I provided creative direction and project oversight—among other tasks—for most of my portfolio samples, the final outcome reflects a collaborative process. I worked closely with professionals across disciplines, including writers, developers, illustrators, photographers, printers, and fellow designers. My role included guiding strategy and execution while empowering others to contribute their strengths. I believe leadership in design means conducting the orchestra, not playing every instrument.
