PIJAC Canada Trade Show Update – Toronto and Drummondville
Over the last few weeks, we have received many questions and comments in regards to our Drummondville National Pet Industry Show, taking place on August 30th and 31st, and the Toronto National Pet Industry Show, taking place on September 13th and 14th. With the current COVID-19 pandemic, we understand how there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding these types of events and can confirm with you today that your shows, in one form or another, will be taking place.
The safety and health of our industry community and staff is our top priority. This is why we are weighing all of our options and keeping a close eye on the development of the COVID-19 pandemic. There is a lot of work going behind the scenes which includes ongoing engagement with provincial governments and research into technological tools. Whether the shows take place in person, or are moved towards an upscale, virtual platform, these events will still take place.
The PIJAC Canada team and Board of Directors will be monitoring the situation in the upcoming weeks to further assess how we will proceed. As you can imagine government decisions impact our contracts with our vendors and as a not for profit agency we need to be strategic about when our moves are made. A decision will be made about the format of the show in early June, after we have been able to properly evaluate the situation.
This has been a challenging year so far for everyone and you can rest assured we are working hard every day to make sure you have what you need. We sincerely thank you for your support and patience and look forward to hosting you.
