Shanghai, PIJAC Canada Is Coming Your Way!
The long-awaited China International Pet Show (CIPS) is only one week away! For the first time ever, PIJAC Canada will have a Canadian Pavilion! PIJAC Canada and six Canadian companies will be packing their bags and heading to Shanghai for four uninterrupted days of business and trade.
This B2B international trade platform pools together pets and aquarium manufacturers and suppliers from all over the world, making it a well-attended show and a must-attend event. The 23rd edition of CIPS is expected to have 1500 exhibitors from 100 countries in 130,000 sqm of show space. From November 20 to 23, approximately 65,000 buyers from across Asia will gather at the National Convention & Exhibition Center to discover the latest and most innovative pet products, trends and signals for the future. The Canadian Pavilion, hosted by PIJAC Canada, will be one that visitors will not want to miss while vising the China International Pet Show.
The Chinese pet market is booming! There are approximately 27,400,000 pets in China, with 11% of the population having a pet in their home. In 2018, the pet market was valued at 167.8 billion RMB (the equivalent of nearly 32 billion CAD). It is forecasted that in the next three to five years, the pet industry will see a 20% increase. Trends in the China Pet Industry include quality awareness, paying more to keep pets happy, science and technology, health and wellness of pets, and the humanization of pets. Dr. Lisa Pang, Director of Marketing of CIPS released an analysis on the China Pet Market that gives an insight on just how large the pet market has become in the last few years and where it is headed.
PIJAC Canadas has represented the Canadian pet market abroad since the early 90’s fostering steady growth year over year. Giving our members the support they need to participate in international shows like CIPS affords them the opportunity to introduce their lines to foreign markets and exponentially increase their business. Being able to leverage a history of consistent growth and a national reputation for quality will serve members well as they conduct business on the world stage next week.
Keep your eyes on our social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn between November 20 and 24 to get a glimpse of what we’re up to at CIPS.
