June 4, 2017, Calgary Alberta – PIJAC Canada is extremely excited to announce that Global Pet Foods – St. Mary’s Street in Winnipeg has won the first ever Animal Welfare is Everyone’s Business Award for Retail. The award was handed out last night during the Full House Gala at the Western Canadian Pet Industry Trade Show in front of a crowd of over 200 pet professional gathered to celebrate the event.
“Store owners Chris and Deb Delorme are a fixture on the Winnipeg pet scene. Whether at the dog park or in store, they focus on educating their community about pet health and safety. They are no strangers to providing donations and hosting adoption and fund raising events. The passion for what they do is crystal clear.”, said Louis McCann, President of PIJAC Canada during the presentation ceremony.
The Animal Welfare is Everyone’s Business Award is part of an ongoing campaign by PIJAC Canada to share stories about the amazing work being done by pet businesses in Canada. The award is meant to highlight the work of dedicated and passionate pet retail businesses in the areas of animal well-being and the promotion of responsible pet ownership. The goal is to publicly shine a light on the efforts of the dedicated professionals in Canada’s pet industry and to inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
