2018 Pet Industry Awards – Eastern Canada
July 4, 2018. Ottawa, ON – Nominations are now open for the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) of Canada’s Canadian Pet Industry Awards – East. The Animal Welfare is Everyone’s Business Retail Awards and Favorite Sales Representative Awards recognize outstanding effort in the support of pet families, clients and the community.
“Offering these awards has been important for the association. Our goal is to publicly shine a light on the efforts of the amazing people in our industry and to inspire others to follow in their footsteps.”, explains Mike Campbell, Chairman of PIJAC Canada’s Board. Following the success of the awards in Western Canada this spring, we are excited to host the first-ever exercise in Eastern Canada.” Over the next three weeks, industry members are encouraged to nominate their deserving clients and suppliers.
Animal Welfare is Everyone’s Business Retail Award: Independent store & Chain store categories
This award highlights the work of dedicated and passionate pet retail businesses in the areas of animal well-being and the promotion of responsible pet ownership in their community.
Favorite Sales Representative: Manufacturer’s Sales Rep. & Distributor’s Sales Rep categories
This award highlights the work of exceptional individuals who go the extra mile in educating their clients and readily offering support, whether it be product related, customer related or assistance with community events.
The Eastern Canadain awards will be split into two sections. Successful nominees from Quebec will be announced on August 1st and voting will begin the same day. Successful nominations from Ontario and the Maritimes will be announced on August 15th and voting will also begin the same day. The awards will be presented at the association’s two trade shows, ExpoZoo in August (nominees in Quebec) and the National Pet Industry Trade Show in September (nominees in Ontario and Maritimes).
Nomination forms for the Retail Award and nomination forms for the Sales Rep Awards are available on the association’s website along with further details about the awards. The first set awards will be handed out at the Expozoo Cocktail Party on August 26th and the second set will be presented at National Pet Industry Trade Show 30th Anniversary Gala on September 16th.
The Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council of Canada (PIJAC Canada) provides leadership and expertise to all sectors of the pet industry through resources, training, and advocacy to promote the highest level of pet care. For 30 years PIJAC Canada has collaborated with Canadian and international stakeholders and governments to develop regulations which promote fair competition, high standards of care and informed consumer choice. With an average of 52% of Canadians owning a pet, the need for citizens to be able to access healthy animals, reliable and proper care advice is essential.
