Record Year for the Western Canadian Pet Industry Trade Show!

This year was a record-breaking year all around. The team at PIJAC Canada confirmed that there were more buyers, more booths and more exhibitors than ever before at the show last weekend!  This business exclusive event was hosted in the beautifully renovated 30,000 square foot Calgary Stampede Venue, offering an extra 3000 square feet of exhibit space. Over 400 attendees and over 80 exhibitors, including 12 new companies enjoyed two sold days dedicated to the business of pet care.

The Sunday evening Dinner was a success as it created the perfect occasion to celebrate the Canadian Pet Community Awards winners (western region). The winners of the 4 awards handed out are:

  • Independent Retailer Award: Meghan Huchkowsky of Doodle Dogs
  • Chain Store Retailer Award: Karima Jivraj of Bosley’s by Pet Value (New Westminster)
  • Manufacturers Sales Representative Award: Chad McMillian of Open Farm
  • Distributors Sales Representative Award: Brenda Hredil of Kane Veterinary Supplies

Our thanks go out to Street Dog Pet Marketing and their sponsorship of this year’s awards.

Congratulations also to Adored Beasts Apothecary who won Best New Product and Anipet who took home the prize for Best Booth.

This evening was the perfect opportunity to gather pet industry experts from western Canada under one roof. Partygoers danced the evening away enjoying the cover band Two Bit Bandits, a Calgary favorite.

“For 14 years in western Canada and over 30 years across the country, PIJAC Canada has taken pride in offering pet businesses an exclusive space to share the latest the industry has to offer. With continual shifts in nutritional and product technology, it’s critical to keep our community connected to help businesses achieve their goals and perpetually raise the bar on pet care.”,  says Stéphanie Girard, President and CEO of PIJAC Canada.

Representing over 800 members across Canada, PIJAC Canada will soon be travelling with 10 Canadian companies to Italy to attend the Zoomark International show from May 6-9. The next Canadian show will be Expozoo in Drummondville, Quebec, August 25-26, followed by the National Pet Industry Trade Show in Mississauga, Ontario, September 15-16.
